Birthday Cakes: You Say It's Your Birthday

It's my birthday too!

For all the birthdays in my family, I have the birthday person pick a cake from my Birthday Cakes cookbook.  I just love this book.  I have had so much success with it.  The recipes are wonderful and there are some fantastic decorating ideas in it too.  Perfect for the decorating-challenged like myself.  So for my birthday today I picked a recipe we have not tried yet - Paw Paw's Caramel Birthday Cake.  Oh my goodness - it was delicious!  Very very rich, but really wonderful and a nice change of pace from all of the chocolate cakes we seem to have around here.  It was a great cake to have for fall, too.
